Earthly Traditions

A fortnightly gathering for home-educating families

Earthly Traditions is a space where children can learn through rhythm, wonder, and creativity. Inspired by Steiner philosophy, our sessions nurture the whole child—head, heart, and hands—through seasonal activities and hands-on experiences.

Together we share in storytelling, baking, traditional crafts, and time in nature. With my background in Art (BA, UAL), I weave imagination and creativity into everything we do, encouraging children to discover the joy of making and learning through doing.

Sessions are held every other Thursday 10.30am until 12.30pm in the Peak District. The cost is £12 for the first child, £9 for the second, and £7 for additional children.

Earthly Traditions is more than a group—it’s a circle of families learning alongside one another, celebrating the seasons, and honouring the simple magic of education rooted in nature, tradition, and creativity.

A place to slow down, create, and grow together .

  • Earthly Traditions is open to home-educating families. Children over 5 are £12, additional siblings are £9, children under 5 are £7, and little ones under 2 join for free.

  • Each gathering follows a gentle rhythm, inspired by Steiner philosophy. We usually begin with a welcome circle or story, then move into hands-on activities such as seasonal crafts, baking, or time in nature. Sessions are creative, practical, and guided by the seasons.

  • Yes—Earthly Traditions is as much a space for families as it is for children. Guardians are invited to stay, join in, or simply enjoy time connecting with one another.
